Abstract
An experiment was conducted in a field at Al-Qurna, Al-Basrah Province during 2013-2014 growing season to study role of foliar fertilization on growth and yield of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) planted at different rate of seed (100, 120, and 140 kg ha-1 ), and four foliar spray levels (0, 2, 4, and 6 liter ha-1)
2l.h-1 foliar level gave the highest number of spikes (575.75 spikes m-2 ), number of seeds per spike (77.22 seed spike-1. ), 1000 seed weight (41.38 g), seed yield (8.16 ton ha-1.), biological yield (21.5 ton ha-1), percentage of protein (14.80 {8aa0d92a9d700de00931fb59e75e46e902b43698544c97f28f7bec3700555d1d}), and crude protein yield (1.21 ton ha-1). R1 seeding rate gave the highest number of seeds per spike (75.62 seed spike-1. ), 1000 seed weight (40.17 g), percentage of protein (13.86 {8aa0d92a9d700de00931fb59e75e46e902b43698544c97f28f7bec3700555d1d}). and crude protein yield (1.05 ton ha-1). 2l.h-1 x 140 kg ha-1 interaction treatment gave the highest number of spikes (616.75 spike m-2), seed yield (8.41 ton ha-1.) and biological yield (23.25 ton ha-1).
